The California Partnership to Improve Dementia Care is teaming up with Plum Healthcare to bring you "I Already Told You...Don't You Remember: A guide to excellence in dementia communications and behavior prevention without antipsychotic medications."

Aging services communities understand what should be done to achieve excellence in dementia care. But often the challenge is to find the right tools to tackle these important initiatives. Internationally-known dementia educator and dementia communication coach Erin Bonitto will provide concrete strategies for this dilemma using tools such as 'The Memory Glue Guy,' 'The Post-It Note', and 'The Control Tower.' She will also demonstrate dementia communication skills known to prevent or reduce the intensity of challenging behaviors.

Erin will offer team tips for coaching these skills in your own organization and share experiences from aging services communities that have found these dementia communications skills to be the 'missing link' to antipsychotic reduction and culture transformation!

Continuing Education
Full attendance at the workshop is a prerequisite for receiving professional continuing education credit. Attendees must provide their professional license number when registering and complete an online survey within 30 days following the workshop to receive a certificate.

Nursing Home Administrators - This program has been approved by the California Nursing Home Administrator Program for 5 hours of continuing education credit. The California Culture Change Coalition, facilitating organization of the California Partnership to Improve Dementia Care, is an approved NHAP provider.
Nursing – Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #CEP 15331, for 5 contact hours.
Social Work – Continuing education for social workers is sponsored by the Coalition for Compassionate Care of California. This course meets the qualifications for 5 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs and/or LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (Provider #PCE 4576).
